Dest is transferring to Bayern Munich (edit: looks like Barcelona is going to win the bidding war)
McKennie is starting for Juventus
Gio Reyna is a starter for Dortmund
Pulisic is a starter for Chelsea
Steffen could conceivably be a starter for Manchester City

Tim Weah is playing at Lille.
Sargent might turn out to be decent.
Then there are apparantly dozens of American teenagers playing in MLS. A few of them will likely turn out to be good. Future is bright indeed

i'm trying to remember who was on that team.
Donovan, claudio reyna, demarcus beasley, friedel, clint mathis, brian mcbride.
That group definitely paved the way for the US to no longer feel like an underdog in international soccer.
I remember staying up super late and setting up 2 tvs to watch the games with my soccer bros.
totally forgot about that handball.
The current crop of young players though are all primed to be stars or at the very least starters at champions league clubs. Pretty wild.

Also Konrad De La Fuente plays for Barcelona B and May got a shot with the real team this season

No we won't. At best, we'll be able to give a team like Portugal or Colombia a good game. We won't be even close to competitive with France, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy or even England.
The elite teams build from the back. Sure, those teams have flashy and skillful midfielders and forwards, but the heart of the team is almost always in the central defense and defensive midfield. We don't have world class players at any of those types of positions. We also don't have a world class #9.
Also, you have to account for the complete and utter shit show of mismanagement that is the USMNT. If half of the players on your list make the roster, I'll be shocked.
