Date: June 30th, 2026 3:38 AM Author: getulio it's demographic replacement... ...because anti-progressive left wing trade unionists and centrist, working class whites can no longer afford to live in the city. i know this because i've been bombarded with NYT and WSJ articles about the phenomenon for over a decade. most people moving to new york now swing left (this is more often than not the nature of people comfortable with uprooting for work) and indeed move there to engage in left wing civic, social, and political life. it's true that immigrants are there in disproportionately high numbers, and some did vote unlawfully, but by and large the numbers regarding illegals voting are drastically inflated. the metric they use (10+ years in the city) for residency is also fairly spurious; americans are a pretty mobile people and move quite frequently to chase the money. many, if not most people you meet in any major urban area in the US are transplants, and with NYC and LA, where you have a whole caste of people who only spend their 20s or 30s there, that effect is even more pronounced. |

Date: June 30th, 2026 3:53 AM Author: getulio what's always pissed me off about the newer strain of American conservatives is that they do fairly well at highlighting the tip of an issue like "demographic replacement" and then do absolutely none of the deeper analytical work needed to translate the complaint into actionable policy. part of this can be hand waved away by acknowledging that non-orthodox conservatives are deliberately shut out of establishment training by RNC mainliner circles but that doesn't explain it in its entirety. "poor whites are getting the short end of the stick in urban areas" yes, then what? are you going to spend political capital and potentially piss off donors to use federal influence to push a state or metropolitan area housing subsidy bill through to ease the burden on them? will you force through more public blocks or rent controlled building through red tape to ensure housing opens up for poor whites? or are you just going to point at libyan immigrants and go "that foreigner is taking your cookie" over and over to no real end or aim? |
