Date: July 5th, 2015 6:38 AM Author: bearded striped hyena at age 5? that was your first encounter with the 'institution' and institutional reality, the antiseptic smell of the institution, its rituals, the first encounter with anonymous authority, etc. i have vivid 'flashbacks' to the first day of kindergarten at least 3 times a week -- triggered by different things -- a sound, or whiff of strong institutional-grade soap, the harsh clatter of metal on metal, etc. it was a very traumatic initiation. |
