It looks like they decided to respond to the "The Game Awards will never pick an indie game for GOTY" criticism by declaring that Clair Obscur is now an "indie" game. Seems kind of unfair to SilkSong and Hades 2. But if Clair Obscur is "indie," then I think there is nearly a 100% chance that an indie game takes the title this year.
