Guy doesn't win a title before 31.
Starting in 2013, he has won 4 singles titles (including one this year), beating guys in the finals named Stan Wawrinka, Lleyton Hewitt, David Goffin and Gilles Muller.
He also reached the finals of 3 doubles majors, winning the US Open in 2015. This year he won IW, Miami and Monte Carlo in doubles.
He also just reached the 3R of Wimbledon, beating Ferrer. he has a very winnable match against Herbert to reach his first 4R ever in a major.

are you suggesting roids, or just pointing out an odd case?
dubs success in the 30s is very common. dubs requires more experience and finding a good partner with whom you have chemistry. lots of doubles guys are older.
i think it could just be an odd case where a guy had talent but not confidence / consistency, and is doing better with maturity. perhaps the doubles gave him confidence to do better in singles, too?

i'm not suggesting roids at all.
i do think he gained some confidence, and i think he's just an odd grass court specialist (all 4 of his titles are on grass).
it's nice to see a guy who has been on tour for a while get some hardware.
i also think there is just a lack of up and coming talent.

Nicolas Mahut was #48 in the world on May 22.
After losing early at 's-Hertogenbosh where he won a title last year and going out in the 1R at Wimby where he reached the 4R last year, he's down to #106! in a span of 6 weeks. Damn.

Mahut back into the top 100 after reaching the R16 in paris!
he'll move up to 83 if he beats the serb who beat Querrey
