Guy’s arms are huge. And his second set is 40s. My old arms curl 45s.

the difference between repping 45 and repping 60 is like 5lbs vs 40

also he is a bodybuilder, not power lifting training

Bodybuilders generally focus on doing slow & controlled reps. Doing reps like that you can only lift like 1/2 of what you could lift if you're drying to just lift as much as possible with decent form.

They also do a lot of volume. You may be seeing him at the end of his workout when he's going to be much less strong.

His form is ok (he is not ego lifting swinging them) but with 60s even the first reps are kinda of crap and he is not going super slow or anything. Thoughts on doing one arm at a time? I have always done both at once which makes it harder and then I grind out a rep or two (or even half reps) with each arm.

Just do whatever you prefer.

While on the subject, unless you have like 2 hours a day to train, bicep curls should not be in your training routine.

I do have 2-4 hours to train. Any time I get a break from work, even sometimes on a conference call, I will bang out a set or two. Benefit of lifting at home v. Gym.

Bicep curls are solid as a lifting "snack".

I've lifted 5+ times per week consistently since my teens (with brief brakes while in-season for sports and during COVID). Last time I did bicep curls was probably freshman year of college. Maybe even high school. They're so far down the priority list.

Look up how professional athletes like NFL players train, and train like that long term. Strength focused, but it's functional (not in a gay CrossFit way) and also duly prioritizes injury and overuse prevention (which is basically the most important thing long term). Look beyond NFL though. Much to learn from studying the training of wrestlers, MMA fighters, hockey players, etc. I don't recommend against Olympic weightlifting itself, but one should study their training and take inspiration from their supplementary lift buffet.

But DO NOT gain any inspiration from the gay workout clothes of any of the above -- must be done NUDE at all times.

To be honest, all I care about is size and definition, I am plenty strong to do what I need to do now so I am not sure NFL is the right thing to follow. The NFL players don’t seem to train nude which, as men, is unacceptable. I follow women lifting because they train clothed (as they should — baggy pump covers as God intended).

I lifted nude other than my weight belt/back support thing which I really wear for moral support and to hide loose skin and love handles, for 2.5 hours today. My cat was impressed (cat is nude other than fur). I added some #bearmode shrugs, forearm work, and other exercises. Felt good.

I think he is referring to the fact that lifting clothed is incredibly homosexual. If you want to improve your workouts, you should study IFNB training methods.

I have been finishing with retard level 15lbs sets (like 50 reps switching to one arm at a time at the end and partials and go until absolute failure) I have to say the pump is credited. I still start with 45lbs and then do 30lbs though first.
