There's a 5% lifetime chance of getting colorectal cancer, and you can reduce that to nearly zero with colonoscopies. Moreover, that 5% number may be too low. Looks there is a spike occurring in younger people. If you have a clean one, you won't need another for a while. If they find polyps, particularly adenomatous ones, regular surveillance is in order.
