Date: March 5th, 2026 1:58 PM Author: incel adams In college I had a summer job abroad that didn't pay me until end of summer because of some weird banking laws and when I came home I had no money, I found like $36 in change and I ate Lunchables and taco bell for a week. The lunchables had too much salt and I couldn't sleep at night you can't eat more than one of those per day imo. I think poor people consume tons of salt and it swells their brain and lowers their base IQ and creates a feedback loop that reinforces poverty. Their swollen salty brain starts thinking poor thoughts like "I should buy these cookie monster pajama pants" "Xbox is a fabulous console" "I will buy and use an Android phone" "Let's adopt a pit bull rescue"

They lasted maybe 2 years before getting divorced and my mom refused to move back in with my grandparents (for a time). I recall at 3-4 being poor as fuck, taking the bus, using food stamps etc. Honestly, it was fucking awesome. I loved looking at bums on the bus and my mom would buy junk food with food stamps. Chicken has been stupidly cheap in world historical terms, and even if you're domestically retarded, it's simple to put a bunch of boneless breasts in the oven and eat some (stupidly cheap) rice with it. My biggest problem was housing. I finally afforded a 1br before I died, got a better gig, and broke into the LMC. This place was an abject shithole. The front door had clearly been kicked in and badly repaired by my slumlord and his scumbag, potbellied son; hot water regularly didn't work; i often had to enter through a fire escape, which i fell down once when gunner was picking me up to go boozing; and the neighborhood was better than you'd expect, but still a rough. I didn't go on dates at this point, so going out could mean getting a sandwich with someone at school or work. I used to romanticize my poverty years (decade), which corporate shrews from dating apps universally scorned. I would still say my quality of life was not bad. There was enough money left over for a few handles of bankers' club or old crow every week, maybe beers with a friend a couple of times. This country is terrible in so many respects, but it is very kind to the working lower class ime. |
