A whole lot of shitty films about the War on Terror era really, they feel really dated and of the moment, even ones from not so long ago like "Billy Lynn's Halftime Walk" they all feel neutered because they're made so carefully to avoid portraying the Troops in a bad light cause libs hate troops but knew it was bad optics to show that. Every one of these movies has thoughtful soldiers musing philosophically on the reasons behind these wars when really they were drinking Monster energy drink and playing xbox.
The Hurt Locker is one of the worst. Imo Generation Kill is the only good media made of this whole 20 year period
