Taylor Swift. Engaged. At age 35.
Do you realize how powerful that is? How much it flips the script that we’ve all been force fed since we were little girls?
For so long….the world has told us that we’re on a timer. That by a certain age we should be married. We should have kids. We should have “settled down.” And if we didn’t, we were somehow…behind. Failing. Less than. Missing our moment. Like there was some invisible expiration date stamped on our worth.
But there is no expiration date.
There never was.
Taylor spent her twenties and early thirties building HERSELF. Touring the world. Falling in love and falling apart. Traveling with her friends. Making art that carried us through our own heartbreaks and milestones. Learning who she was outside of anyone else’s shadow.
And now…she gets THIS.
Not because she rushed.
Not because she settled.
Because she waited.
She trusted her own timeline. She knew she didn’t need to be “completed” by someone else, because she was already whole.
Taylor Swift is proof that you are not running out of time.
She is showing girls that it’s okay to chase the dream first. To travel with your friends. To build your confidence. To achieve your career goals. To fall apart and rebuild. To grow into yourself before growing with someone else.
She is proof that your life is not “late.” That joy is not reserved only for the people who did it young. That love can meet you at 35, at 50, at 75…and it will still be brand new, magical, and all yours.
This is not the end of her story.
This is not the finish line.
This is just her next chapter.
And if you’ve ever felt like you missed your shot, let her engagement be your reminder….
You didn’t. You haven’t. You are right on time.
She was the girl with teardrops on her guitar.
The young woman the world mocked for “too many boyfriends.”
The woman they said was too much, too dramatic, too late.
And yet here she is now….proving that true love isn’t something you miss. It arrives when it’s meant to, and it meets you where you are.
Because love will wait while you build yourself.
Because joy doesn’t come with a deadline.
And because happiness has no expiration date.
And maybe that is the most beautiful love story of all.
