im not arguing the balance of power should change at all. im arguing procedural rules should change and we should elect people that vote for what we want.
arguing potus should have legislative power is arguing for a complete upheaval of the system. it's not a serious suggestion unless you think a revolution and constitutional convention is in the cards. |

I agree they should do this. They are all grifters who profit from the stagnation and gridlock. They should be forced to do things. Similarly since they won't do anything on international trade the President should have the power to raise or lower tariffs. It would all be better if decisions got made. Then people would get more involved in politics because things would start changing faster and that would make people want to take the reigns way more. this thread asks what congress could conceivably do, not what the hypothetical ideal is. you seem to be confusing what i think we should do within the realm of possibility with what i think the ideal system is. |
