He was big on tech and had a Laserdisc player and a big collection of films and even a "big screen" tv. I think all this shit was really costly back then
But anyway they had a Sega Genesis early on and I was wowed by Sonic. The graphics were so good and he ran so fast. I wanted a genesis so bad.
Now going back as an adult and playing Sonic I realized how bad it sucks. You just hold right and run into an enemy or spikes and lose coins. The jumping is floaty and sucks. Collecting "chaos emeralds" was gay, the mini games were tedious and repetitive too. And then the 3d sonic game for dreamcast? It sucked ass too. And was gay.
I even got tricked into buying Sonic Mania (2017) as reviewers were praising it and it was the same bullshit and sucked. I just beat Sonic Pocket Adventure which I own for Neo Geo Pocket and i loved it as a kid but now i think it's a 6/10 game at best |

It's not as simple as just pushing right in the later levels, especially in Metropolis Zone which scrolls forever vertically.
