Not every bad actor is bad in the same way; not all negotiations are equal; few victories require total annihilation rather than thorough defeat. The question is how much force is required to achieve America's interest. The answer depends on several factors, including the reliability of Iran's commitments; the credibility of our threat of force; and the amount of pain they can withstand and our willingness to bring that amount of pain to bear.
But here's what won't do it: taking the Obama position that the only alternative to "demanding war until every possible enemy is dead" is cutting a truly crappy deal with an overtly dishonest enemy dedicated to destroying America and her allies.
But I think you know that. Which is why you went with the reductive silliness. |

So as long as it's not a foreverwar like the dozen others we forced you into, and you can pay more at the pump goy, it's totally worth it to bankrupt your country and spend American lives in order to get a better deal from the evil doers who are like, really mean to Israel. Date: July 29th, 2026 10:54 AM Author: Richard Ames Yeah the shit that is just unreal is when they take the term "forever wars" and argue (more or less) "it's not forever. It's a series of skirmishes over the course of 25 years" (with no real end in site) as though we mean "forever" literally.
I was thinking recently about how it is basically baked into their DNA to do this sort of hyper-legalistic arguing about anything that is to their benefit. Thousands of years of Talmudic bullshit coupled with their historical breeding patterns and you get people like Shapiro who will pedantically argue over the term "forever war" as though he's arguing for better covenant terms on a leveraged loan deal.
At some point it's like you want to look at him (and them as a whole) and say "dude you are exhausting beyond belief. You keep people arguing about all of these things that are so far removed from the core issues. And you never fucking stop. ENOUGH!!" |
