Probably higher. It's all transaction-based and driven by financing of all sorts. Even the productive parts of the economy mostly grow through price increases. Tons of PE firms have bought up all sorts of widget / component makers across every industry and then raised prices across the board. It's all fraud bullshit.

It's really unbelievable. People look around and go "why does everything cost so much now?" Obviously part of it is the money printing, but there is basically a hidden layer of PE investors raising prices on inputs across every area of the economy.

Example: a PE firm buys a family-owned aerospace engine component maker. The company supplies a critical component that accounts for only 2% of the total cost of the engine it goes into. The PE firm sees this and says "we have pricing power" and then doubles the price out of the gate and continues to raise it every year. Because, well, it's critical and still a relatively small percentage of the overall cost of the engine. Mind you that the family that ran the business never raised prices because there was no need and they weren't actually doing anything new to warrant the price increase.

Now take this one example and multiply it across every segment of the economy. (And every part inside of an airplane engine, for that matter.) Oh, what business mastermen!

GE could buy the stupid business and do the same thing. Everyone thinks PE is Extra Evil for some reason. I just know the companies they buy always become shitty ime.

People think PE is Extra Evil because they are purely financial engineers. At least in the case of GE you're talking about a business that actually engineers and manufactures products. Whereas Queer Hill Capital Partners is just full of vest wearing fags who can't even hammer a nail.

But yes, Jack Welch was a pioneer of the extraction-in-lieu-of-value-creation approach. PE just has it as its entire operating model.

Tons of them were acquired over the last decade. There are still more out there. Either way, it was just an illustrative example.

“Big tech” that never develops any technology

Apps everywhere that do nothing

Why don’t cars come from china, you ask? Bc the auto industry employs like 10,000,000k people directly or indirectly

Video games that cost $500,000,000k to develop and then fail immediately

That’s just a sign that PS5 players have taste and Class. I nod with approval at the Low Sales of even the highest selling games on Sony consoles relative to the install base. What is everyone playing, you ask? Maybe Blu Rays in 4K. Maybe HBO. Whatever they want. Greatness awaits imo.
