They make less than minimum wage, even if you treat revenue as profit. Once you account for the costs of driving, are these people even breaking even?
So who does this? America is a bountiful country, can they literally not find any other job?

how many other jobs are there that don't require you to do physical labor, stand for 8 hours a day, expend any sort of intellectual labor, or be drug tested? how many of those also allow you to control your own schedule?
it's basically accelerating the increase of the wealth gap between the rich and poor, which is actually misleading because the wealth gap increase happens by eliminating the middle class so that it's just the rich ($10M+ NW) and the poor (<$100k NW without income).
basically, it's preying upon the goynip-smoking cattle to increase shareholder value

Nope.
> Once you account for the costs of driving, are these people even breaking even?
More than breaking even.
> So who does this?
I do.
> America is a bountiful country, can they literally not find any other job?
I am incredibly lazy and I have astonishing resume gaps. Doordash is a way for me to eek back into a working life.

IRS mileage deduction isn’t bad if they do a schedule C but few have the presence of mind imo.
Irl, jobs are shit, prole jobs fire you constantly at random and white collar jobs have snooty interview culture with Clique restrictions and the jobs are fake so if you get laid off you can’t find one bc there is no need for the thing that you’re supposed to do. Imho irl there are millions of able-bodied people who can’t get jobs bc the system is inefficient af.
Proles like Driving Around imho

Yup, my mileage deductions are FAR less than my actual costs even factoring in depreciation
> if they do a schedule C but few have the presence of mind imo
I dunno what you're saying here. You more or less have to file a return because they 1099 you. And where else other than Sch C would you put the income? Personally I keep a mileage log just as I'm supposed to but quite frankly I'm not even sure if you really 'need' it for your taxes because Doordash gives you their own estimate of what your mileage was.
