They were given something like 6 months to find a new job, which invariably they did, either at another biglaw firm or in-house. Many partners even helped set these guys up with clients so that they would be grateful to the firm and relations remained amiable. Generally, people wouldn't even wait for that as people were getting various offers all the time.
Now we get people thrown out with little to no warning just because there isn't work and because no one is firing their careers are often over. |
