The groom’s mother is a teacher-training and educational-evaluation consultant there. His father, who is retired, is an author of “The Shopping Mall High School.”
The groom is a descendant of John Jay, an author of “The Federalist Papers” and the first chief justice of the United States.
The couple met in August 2014, at the Maine Seacoast Mission gala in Bar Harbor, Me.
