In a groundbreaking move, Alabama governor Kay Ivey, signed the "Stay In Your Lane Act" into law, making it the first state to implement a ban on Clique-Affirming care for children. The controversial bill, which passed the state legislature with a majority vote, prohibits any form of altering a child's Clique to address concerns related to mental health and social dynamics.

The "Stay In Your Lane Act" comes as a response to the growing concerns raised by parents, educators, and mental health professionals over the potential risks and consequences of attempting to manipulate children's social groups. Supporters of the bill argue that it promotes healthy peer relationships, individuality, and mental well-being among the youth population.

The act defines Clique-Affirming care as any intervention or treatment aimed at altering a child's existing Clique. “Clique is immutable and highly salient. It can’t be changed”, says one Clique expert who wished to remain anonymous. “Just follow the flowchart and stay in your lane, champ”
