He a fucking carpenter and sent me an email with sentences like these:

Even with her few missing teeth, her shy, heartwarming grin as she rolls her tongue around her mouth can melt any heart. Cindy's love for books and reading time is insatiable. From delightful tales "Never touch the Stinky Piglets" to funny reads like "Hippo-Potty mess, each book is a new adventure. She dives into the stories with enthusiasm, pointing excitedly and flipping through the pages faster than I can read them (sometimes 3 at a time).

After breakfast we have a routine of a wagon ride. Cindy and Cathy bring a whole new level of excitement to our neighborhood strolls, especially when the wagon comes into play. Cindy, always the quiet observer, loves her wagon rides more than anything. She settles into her little chariot, wide-eyed and content, taking in the scenery with the serenity of a silent film star.

I asked him a series of pointed questions instead of asking him to rewrite it and he sent me back another AI-composed declaration.

After the third time I said, "I have to be honest. This looks like AI wrote it. What's going on?"

He admitted that AI "helped" him with suggestions, but that it was mostly his words.

tell him to use this prompt: use simple, conversational wording that a middle schooler could understand

I actually fed what he typed back into ChatGPT and said to make it sound like it was written by a carpenter, not AI, and it spit out the same garbage.

Then I said it still looked like AI, can it do better, and it got *slightly* better.

Then I asked it to write it with "a limited knowledge of English" and it finally sounded normal.
