Date: May 30th, 2024 6:56 PM Author: fragrant garnet space maybe The Same Game isn't such a bad model. if people have a limited amount of time for Media, and they already know they like martin scorsese movie for whatever fucking reason, it makes total sense to pick a safe bet for a saturday night instead of rolling the dice on either mass produced slop or some unknown indie film. if five years later, people whose tastes you tend to share still love the indie film in retrospect, it's more likely to be worth your time. same with games. i'll play the shit out of any mainline atlus or fromsoft game, and enjoy it greatly, compared to accidentally buying a long movie-game like the final fantasy VII remakes or whatever bethseda makes these days. fuck it, it's not the 90's anymore, there are enough old games to go back through that i'm much more likely to find an old gem i missed than for a new release to actually be good. Date: May 30th, 2024 6:27 PM Author: Copper concupiscible principal's office weed whacker Is this some kind of joke? Sony is basically a PC publisher now afaict (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705260) |
Date: May 30th, 2024 6:38 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin Everything about this just feels like they stole Nintendo Directs from Nintendo. maybe this shit came first but it doesn't feel like it.
I know it all seems retarded but I have no choice but to blame the gamers. They crave the Same Game. Making a New Game Series is like Disney doing John Carter, or fuckin' Redfall. Once bitten, twice shy. But then they make a western game like Ghost of Tshunima and we're all just like "fuck this shit, this doesn't Count. There are No Games this gen." Even if it were current gen exclusive and brand new we'd be like "this looks Stupid and is made by Westerners." |
Date: May 30th, 2024 6:47 PM Author: Copper concupiscible principal's office weed whacker Redfall was a cool game and I stand by it. I swear 8 years from now it’s going to be “rediscovered” because Games basically won’t ever be made anymore by that time. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705331) |

Date: May 30th, 2024 7:04 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin I don't know a damn thing about it, I just piled on because it's Bad. Is it some kind of FPS where you kill zombies? (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705344) |

Date: May 30th, 2024 7:26 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin Wish there was a Castlevania souls like. More series should cross over into other genres imo. A FF7 FPS where you play as Barret and released only in the west would also be 180. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705380) |

Date: May 30th, 2024 7:48 PM Author: fragrant garnet space not a souls-like metroidvania as in the genre (see hollow knight, blasphemous, and a lot of other indie games), just souls-like castlevania as in a totally different game with the old IP slapped on it? why? what? |
Date: May 30th, 2024 8:00 PM Author: Copper concupiscible principal's office weed whacker I'm not even sure I can call this Gen a joke. It barely even qualifies as a joke imo. Afaict it didn't even exist. There were No Games. It had all the impact of Jaguar 64 or something. I think Consoles are dead imho. Date: May 30th, 2024 8:13 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin The AAA crash that Losers have anticipated for so long is happening atm.
but a lot of it is basically that ports are cheap af to do because it’s all x86 and the Engineering is nbd. Back in the day some games would stay exclusive because who cares about Xbox/Gamecube or whatever and the extra 280k of sales and the Engineering took time. Porting something to Saturn required multiple Engineering Ph.ds including several who developed the SH-2 itself just to begin to write Code. Anyway, efficacy of ports between consoles and console to PC has increased immensely. Sony tried to use Engineering to maintain the whole Console thing with PS3 but it backfired and they just make PCs now
Still with that said I mean wtf I have a $500 PS5, yeah a $1500 PC is better but what controller do I even use? An Xbox controller? A Keyboard? Lol |
Date: May 30th, 2024 8:26 PM Author: Copper concupiscible principal's office weed whacker you can use any controller you idiot, I was just playing BG3 on my MBP with an Xbox controller ffs. or just get a Steam Deck afaik. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705621) |
Date: May 30th, 2024 8:31 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin I like a steam deck just bc it won’t have a Loud Fan. No moving parts usually means shit will last longer. But fuck maybe it does have a fan, it’s western after all. with that said I’m a Curator at heart. I want Games, not hardware. Nerds and Scumbags chase hardware. Losers like me want to play Games. And not the Same Games either. Reddit Scumbags in r/xbox will casually mention having say one Series S and one X. They just like Hardware. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705646) |
Date: May 30th, 2024 8:24 PM Author: Bright talented hospital turdskin Btw it kind of does remind me of the 4.5th gen. So yeah like Jaguar. PS5 is like 3DO with lots of “exclusives” which could be played on PC nbd. Jaguar has that ONE LEGIT exclusive (AvP), equivalent to idk Astro Bot or Returnal (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5534099&forum_id=2#47705614) |
