Great books (the first three), not at all influenced by the sex and genderism in her other books. She makes all of her characters black to be transgressive, but since she can't write actual black characters to save her life, none of her readers notice, and people just think they're "dark" and "bronze-skinned" because they're tanned. So she goes back to sex stuff for all of her other books.
