LAX seems cleaned up, less insanely overcrowded, huge recruitment posters everywhere for immigration officer recruiting. Didn't have to show passport, just walked up to a tablet and they took a picture of me. It's all biometric. Took about 5 seconds from the time I stepped up to where the officer was.
Biden years: Long lines, palpably filthy airports, rude repetitive annoying questioning by officer demanding to be told verbally exactly which countries I'd traveled to.
SoCal seems noticeably cleaned up, lots of covered up graffiti spots.
