I don't know if I would say "far less affordable," but it is less affordable by that metric. I'm not sure nationwide averages are meaningful for this analysis, though. In the run-up to ITE, there were a couple markets that were absurdly overpriced (e.g., Miami, Vegas) along with many others that were only slightly inflated (e.g., most of Texas). Today, I feel like housing is too expensive everywhere but an UMC household can still afford a house in most places.
