i was in jail for about 36 hours following arrest. my description of jail would be fairly chill. lots of people were in there for alcohol, spousal incidents, small time drugs. most seemed to think they'd be out within a couple days, but a lot of the mexicans said they couldn't make bail b/c their family was scared they'd get INS'd if they went in to the police station to post. a couple guys were on their second or third DUI which meant they had to serve 15-30 days, but they were mixed in the same as people who'd just gotten arrested. most guys would just crowd around the one TV as soon as they were allowed to turn it on and stare at it all day. some guys played cards with each other. some would group up to 'read the bible together' but it seemed like they usually just ended up shooting the shit. the food was bad.

i didn't do any confinement other than that, so no.

it was definitely a really random assortment of bros. some were very chill. some were scared as fuck. a few seemed like they were trying to look "hard" or maybe they were because i think there were some people in who'd been arrested for fairly serious crimes-being 'on felony paper' as they called it.

there weren't any fist fights or real drama from what i saw, but i was told it does happen sometimes.
