I can suggest an equation that has the potential to impact the future:
E = mc² + AI
This equation combines Einstein's famous equation E=mc², which relates energy (E) to mass (m) and the speed of light (c), with the addition of AI (Artificial Intelligence). By including AI in the equation, it symbolizes the increasing role of artificial intelligence in shaping and transforming our future. This equation highlights the potential for AI to unlock new forms of energy, enhance scientific discoveries, and revolutionize various fields such as healthcare, transportation, and technology.

Too much to mention in one paragraph. It's explosive. Most people eventually have their AI epiphany and it hasn't happened to you yet.
Most people will probably use it as an extension of google but smart people will use it to measurably improve every aspect of their lives so the long term outcome is a much bigger gap between the smart/rich and dumb/poor.
Try using chatGPT to do an analysis of your posts on xoxohth. Provide some details of your background, interests, education, family, accomplishments. Doesn't need to be a lot, just a sketch. It's impressive what it spits back. A free psychiatrist. It's fun and amusing. Also try having fun with the AI analysis by feeding it with misinformation or hypothetical scenarios to see where it takes you.

SWIM's company fired a bunch of low level grunts and left SWIM in charge of some operations without half his staff. SWIM trained AI to
1) teach him WTF these people actually did, and
2) perform 95% of their tasks
IOW he is so good at using AI to replace humans that he himself has become irreplaceable to the company. Furthermore he can quit tomorrow and get hired by any company looking to trim staff. He's like the grim reaper for anyone else with a jerb now. I saw what his kids got for Christmas this year so I know he's not lying.

First, can I mention I'm too senior / old to be worried about AI? har har har.
The trends are pointing towards this: typical manager type person has 20 basic job duties. AI now does 5 of them. It means the manager can now have 25 basic job duties instead of 20. So, no, it's not a time saver. You will not spend less time on the computer, you'll now have to make more decisions and faster.
Yes, jobs will be lost through elimination of roles due to AI. But at same time revenue and profits should increase, and that will spur more investments into new areas, with the associated new hires. Winners and losers. As there are for every new tech.

I've done the same and have quickly realized that all current LLMs are essentially large scale validation machines and will quickly attempt to learn the answers it thinks you want and only give you those answers.
It's actually pretty frustrating overall (even on non therapeutic things like tax planning or finances) as the responses really cannot be trusted without significant verification such that I'm not even sure it's as useful as everyone makes it out to be.
On the flip side I do use it often but more as an instant encyclopedia or to confirm things i thought but wasn't certain of.

You can do a lot with python. Python was already an easier language to write and the trade-off was a speed performance hit (but computer chips are so good these days that it doesn't matter for most purposes). But now you can just describe in general terms what you want, it will suggest some packages for you and write code. If you're doing anything repetitive on the computer-- and if you're a lawfag, I'm sure you are-- then you should be automating it. I'm working substantially fewer hours for the same money.
This is a lot less true if you're still junior enough that most of your day is legal research. Bot still isn't good at that, unfortunately.

asked gemini to look at a google drive folder w/ 1/2 a year of utility bills in it, sum up the totals for electric, gas, and water, and generate an email to three tenants with 1/3rd of the total amount that each owes.
by next year i would not be surprised if i can have an ai agent go and retrieve the utility bills and do this process 100%

it does all that today. if i get a financial update spreadsheet from a company, i can upload that (claude) and have it figure out arr, ltv:cac ratios, etc just based on the data in the spreadsheet.
just leave an ai assistant of your choice constantly open on one of the screens and try to leverage it for nearly anything you'd ask an admin or lower level assistant to do.
they call can integrate with your inbox, drive, cal, etc and do things like write emails and create appointments for you. huge time saver

It is a gamechanger for shitlaw practice.
I capture every minute of time by simply running a natural language log of all my tasks all day. At the end of the day I import the output into clio. Perfect billing with no additional time entry. This by itself made me at least 10% more efficient.
I record, transcribe, and summarize all client meetings. No more note taking at all, and all my information is searchable.
I scan and upload all paper documents, and they are all searchable and information is easily accessible in gemini.
I have gone entirely paperless, and it wouldn't have been possible without AI.
Then there are the little research tasks that are sped up. Not legal research per se (though AI is not a bad place to start research threads). But its much easier to say "find me the phone number for a service processor in Reno, Nevada", or "find me the registered agent for xyz corp" into a microphone than it is to look these things up manually.
There are a hundred other things that natural language input speeds up. Calendaring, setting task reminders, I could go on and on.
My overall efficiency has skyrocketed since I embraced AI. Its a very big deal.

i literally just built a game for my kid, sight reading game, all of the assets were ai made and the kid chose and described how they wanted the characters to look like
took maybe a week
i also was able to build a script that essentially gives me undetectable wallhacks for online games and building this inspired me to build the game for my kid
both were done in under a week, this is something that i could have done on my own but would have cost money for artists and would have taken months
