Found a Burglar in my kitchen at 5am this morning

Date: March 26th, 2024 9:49 AM Author: Very tactful twinkling uncleanness No damage. Got through a loosely locked bathroom window latched but not fully tightened. I went into the kitchen after hearing a dish or something wake me up and i see a dark figure on the other side of my table. I started yelling at him angrily and don't remember what i said, just that i didn't stop yelling, he swung a fucking San Pellegrino bottle at me that was on my table from last night. I blocked it and punched him in the mouth quickly without thinking. Loyal hound came in right after raising hell. he freaked and screamed to keep the dog away from him as I was yelling for him to get the fuck out. He dropped my PS5 controller running out the back door as my dog chased him.
Fucking rush and so fucking lucky he didnt make contact and that he wasn't otherwise armed. Didnt even think to grab the bat or anything. I just went straight for him without thinking.
it's been 6 hours and im still amped. Now coming to about how dangerous and dumb it all was. Wife is making me a big steak dinner tonight. Lucky and glad it ended without a bigger problem. |

It's been a week and even though I got a clean shot on him and scared the dude off, I still get flashbacks of it, still feel my knuckles on the corner of his mouth. The worst flash is to hear his initial scream after I hit him when he realised i was on one side of the table and my dog had him cornered on the other side. He sounded actually terrified which should make me feel good or I thought it would at least, but it just leaves me feeling a mix of sadness, disgust and anger for the poor fucker.
It's not how i thought I'd feel at least. I honestly truly hope no one here has to go through this experience. I really hate that I'm taking a second look at people on the street now. I've known i can handle myself just fine, it's just not been very easy to step back from being on edge even 7 days later. Im activated and I just want to relax, or beat the shit out of someone else.
Sounds like a cool story, and parts of it make me feel good for a minute, but overall it still was pretty traumatic and fucking sucked even though it all worked out in the end just fine. |
