The law is a miserable profession.

There are easier ways to make money.

Why is law miserable?

What would you suggest instead of law?

Also, what if one's current profession is even more miserable than law? Wouldn't that be an upgrade?

it's miserable because most people go into litigatoin, which is replete with absolutely mindless work and bitter, maligned people.

definitely not....doc review means going through 3 million + emails and classifying as either "relevant" or "not-relevant"...or several million purchase orders to determine if it's evidence of "price-fixing".

I'm adding this link to the shitty sources of information thread. Most people do not, I repeat do not, go into litigation. In fact, very few do.

What would you suggest instead of law?

Easy. Medicine or IBanking (via an MBA in finance) if you want $$$.

The law is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy OVERSUPPLIED. Please save the ridiculous "it's not oversupplied for top grads" arguments. The vomitably excessive surplus trickles down (or up) to affect everyone.

If I could've gone to Med School, I would've.

I friggin' hate banking. Couldn't get a good Ibanking job even if I wanted one, though.

The law is a better profession than the one I'll be able to get into right now with the 'skills and qualifications' that I have.

This is true. Lawyers spend their lives dealing with people who broke the law, or were accused of breaking it, i.e. the scum of the earth.

I'm going into the law because I hate these people with a passion and want to do everything I can to punish them.

But I would not recommend going into the law for any reason other than ensuring proper enforcement of the law.

That and more friend, that and more. My dream is to be a law breaker's worst nightmare. That college kid sitting there doing an illegal drug, I want a world where he is so quivering with fear at the thought of what someone like me will do to him that he puts it away.

I can't accomplish my dream in any way other than the law. That's why I'm in law school.
