Here we go. This is comparing firm-for-firm, office-for-office, summer associate classes. Early, sure, but you can compare how identical offices have stacked up so far.
FIRST column is the total of 2007 summer associates at those firms.
SECOND column is net gain/loss of summer associates from the school from 2006 to 2007 at those firms. ***Gain/losses of 0 or 1 EXCLUDED.***
THIRD column is the % of that law school class it represents.
FOR EXAMPLE, in the chart below, USNWR ranked #1 Yale has 45 summer associates at the V100 firms listed below for 2007, representing a +17 increase in net summer associates at those firms from 2006, or 8.5% of their class.
Firms included: Akin DC; Baker Botts DC; Covington DC; Gibson NY, DC; Irell LA; Jenner DC; Jones Day NY; Kirkland CHI, LA; Latham SD; Munger LA; Wilmer BOS and DC.
1 Yale 45 17 8.5%

Why did you pick this particular group of firms? Some especially aren't particularly desirable (Jones Day NY). Are these the only firms for which there is currently data?

Yale is probably up by so much b/c of the large DC representation so far. It would be interesting to see DC v. non-DC firms for them. I bet DC will be up by a lot this year, where other cities will be down.
