I make about 1million per year(then subtract taxes). I work occasional shifts 9am-9pm. I could add another job every 4th week 5pm-1am to make an extra 400k. So 13weeks per year my shifts would be 9am-1am. I could even do it 8am-1am if I wanted to max out. On 13 weekends I'd be doing only 5pm-1am. And that 400k would be taxed at 40%+. Bad idea?
I could also ultimately change my standard 9am-6pm mo-fr job into block schedule 14on/14off to get more weeks off. I could then do 7days of 16hours, 7days of 9hrs, then 2weeks off and repeat.

I don't think anyone is really striving to work 12 or especially 16hrs long term. The appeal here is that 5pm-1am shift I could combine with 5pm-9pm shiftand make 2x per hour what I'm making now. And work only 7on/21off.. but the problem is neither of those jobs is secure. That's why I must keep my regular mo-fr job. Only overnight jobs allow you to work so few shifts.

Goal is not so much to max per day. Goal is to eventually cut down total # of shifts. In fact if I make 2x/day right now it doesn't add much money, because most days I would still be working my regular job and average pay per day would not be much higher, plus 40% tax. But I cannot quit my regular job, because it is legit, while all the jobs after 5pm are shady.
For example if I combine 5pm-1am and 5pm-9pm jobs I make 2x/hr, working 8hr shifts, 7on/21 off. But combine it with my regular job and I'm fucked. And my regular job is actually considered most desirable.

I'm seriously thinking ultimate goal is work 7on/21off. My current day time job is considered elite because it is daytime, no weekends. But it is too many weeks.. offhour jobs pay better per hour but most of them unstable.

Coming off vacation now and no longer think its realistic to do 16hr shifts. What I want to do is just work 7on/21off. But most of those jobs pay less and want you to work nights
