Suddenly you stop moving, and it seems as if whoever was dragging you decided to let go. As you try to escape, you hear a conversation but you cannot make out the words. You hear a creaking sound followed by a thud. After a short time, you hear another creaking sound and another thud. You finally break free only to find that there is nobody in the large, circular room you now occupy.
Directly behind you ("south") is the set of double doors you were dragged in through. At the north end of the room, there is a large "EXIT" sign and another set of double doors. The west end of the room has a single small door. There are eight glossy maroon coffins arrayed around the outside of the room, equally spaced and pointing towards the center. You are next to the south coffin. You examine it and notice a grooved slot in the lid. In the center of the room is a curved wall of thick glass that reaches the ceiling and forms a complete circle. Within this circle, there is a smaller dome of thick glass. Inside the dome there are two coffins pointing north to south. The dome and wall each have a door at their south edges.
On the floor next to you, there is a tape recorder, a sketch of the room's layout, and a serrated dagger which you recognize as the one that claimed Foggy Bottom Dreaming's life.

Hello Fish. I want to play a game with you. You have lived your life consumed with anger and rage. If you can put aside this hatred and follow my instructions, you will have an opportunity to kill me, and I will not resist. However, if you are unable to kill me, you will have to make a difficult choice. Mandy has remained inside one of the coffins since the time of her capture, maintained by a respirator and intravenous feeding tube. I have also entered one of the coffins, and To Be Fair is inside another. Mandy is not in immediate physical danger and can survive indefinitely in her current condition. If she dies today, it will be by your hand.
Now, heed my instruction. To unlock the doors to the glass chambers, you must take the serrated dagger and drive it into the slot in the lid of one of the outer coffins. Use caution when choosing the outer coffin. If it is occupied, the blade will pierce the inhabitant's throat, resulting in death. I will assist you in this first stage of the game: the south coffin is uninhabited and can be stabbed with no consequences.
There are several other rules to this game. All coffins, and all doors except for those to the glass chambers, are in wireless communication with a biorhythmic device on my wrist. If you kill me, they will unlock. You will be able to retrieve Mandy and leave through the north exit. However, if you kill To be fair, his device will only unlock the north exit. You will then face a difficult choice: escape with me alive and doom Mandy to a lifetime of darkness, or attempt to kill me, saving Mandy's life but ending yours. You see, if both of the central coffins are stabbed, the glass doors will lock, sealing you inside forever but unlocking the outer coffins.
You must now make several choices.
1.First, choose which outer coffin you will stab to advance to the next level. 2.Then, choose which coffin you will stab during the second stage. 3. Finally, if the coffins do not unlock during the second stage, you must decide if you will walk away, or make one final attempt to save Mandy. Do not squander your opportunity to kill me. If you delay, fantasize, or introduce new rules, you will die.
So that there will be no doubt that the rules do not change midgame, I will upload an encrypted file containing the location of my coffin and the location of To Be Fair's coffin. I will release the password at the game's conclusion. Let the games begin. |

Inside the glass chamber, Fish boldly drives the dagger into the first coffin, knowing this will be the choice that determines if he lives or dies. The coffins do not unlock, and Fish resigns himself to his fate. With a heavy heart, he makes the ultimate sacrifice and stabs the second coffin, hopeful for one final chance to see Mandy alive and safe before he dies. The glass doors to the central chamber lock, sealing him inside.
The inner left coffin unlocks first, revealing the masked corpse of To be fair. Then the northeast coffin opens, revealing emptiness. The outer coffins continue to open in a counterclockwise order, and none are occupied. The last outer coffin (east) remains sealed. The right inner coffin then unlocks, and you are face to face with the corpse of your tormentor. You slowly remove the cow mask to discover his identity.... . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . *You recoil in horror when you discover Mandy's face staring up at you, eyes glazed over and throat mangled beyond all recognition. The final coffin unlocks. The Jigsaw killer emerges and slowly walks to your glass prison.*
Fish, you refused to learn the lesson I prepared for you and in the process sacrificed your own convictions: never gamble with Mandy's life.

Eventually it spills into the coffins, dissolving the corpses of Mandy and To be fair as it works its way up your ankles, reducing them to bone. As the acid rises, you cry out, losing hope. He was fucking with everyone. He wanted us to wait around and look for something else, when really it was right there.

It was Rowan's pwning, and while good it was clearly not on the level of some of the others. Any scenario with Rowan in it was destined to be a bit boring...he offered up several dates that would have provided hilarious results, knowing Rowan would choose the lamest option. he even threw in the extremely unpopular cornflakes meme to enrage people.
now, why do rowan in this specific order, which was different from the capture order? he needed to make his popularity decline seem real and convince people that he really had jumped the shark. otherwise it wouldn't have seemed credible when he reached out to To be fair.

I have to agree with you re: pensive/:D/Rowan...it seemed to be a bad run that marked a downturn for the schtick at the time, but let's break it down and see what it really was:
-pensive: Jigsaw knew that pensive would act like a faggot, so he drew up a complicated plan that would allow simultaneously allow pensive to think he was in control (thus hooking him into the game, which becomes important down the line) and still giving him a chance to humiliate him properly (get the board pissed at pensive, lower his IQ/give him STD's) so he doesn't walk away unscathed.
-:D: Just like you said, Jigsaw expected :D to act like a cockgobbler so he dropped a massive pwn on him immediately after it became clear that he wasn't responding. :D came off looking terrible.
-Rowan: Also just what you said - this was supposed to be his "big come back", but it was purposely underplayed and kind of boring (just like Rowan herself). He knew he could count on Rowan to make it end up like that even if he set up a hypo that, on its face, held a lot of promise...yet he also included dumb memes like the cornflake thing to ensure that he took some of the blame so that expectations would be lower and he could use his waning popularity to suck TBF in...
And then it all comes together perfectly last night as three posters go down and one retires. He read both TMF and TBF perfectly, and turned this into the greatest coup yet for this schtick.
Which leaves us with pensive still alive, however. As we discussed, I think pensive will get his just desserts in the end and it will probably end up being more satisfying than if he had just done away with him in one fell swoop like the board wanted at the time. He seems to have really mapped this all out.
