1) How much would it cost for the bare essentials of your types of travel per trip? Flights, hotels, food, sightseeing, etc.

2) Do you have travel companions from the start, travel solo, meet international friends along the way, or all of the above? What is optimal in your experience?

3) How long are your trips and how long do you stay in a place? I kind of like settling in for at least 2 weeks as opposed to to the rushed 2 days per city before moving on.

2) I go on trips with people, meet new people from tinder and in IRL and visit lots of places where I already have friends. They're all great, I wouldn't focus on one over the other.

3) Depends on the stop. Some places I stay for a week or more, others are quick stops. You need to look at the cost, how much you want to do there and how long you're realistically going to enjoy being there without getting bored. Also need to look at a longer view of what you want to do and make sure you leave enough time for all the things you really want to do.

A quick look at this summer:

June

- Spent the first week in the city. Girl who lives in Maine came to visit/stay with me.

- Second week went out to the Hamptons with another girl for a charity event. She paid for the event and lodging, no extra expenses.

- Flew JFK-CDG with Air France miles (AMEX MR moved to AF), cost = taxes

- Third week I was in France. Girl flew in from Stockholm and we went out to Deauville for a night. Train ~20 euro each way. Hotel Le Royal Barriere ~300euro. Rest of the time in Paris

- Fourth week had SPORT in Lille, no $.

July

- Flew Paris-Madrid-Bogota with AA miles (credit card signup) on Iberia, cost under $50

- Stayed at the JW Marriott in Bogota for two nights with Marriott points for free in order to chill

- Flew Bogota-Medellin on LAN Colombia, maybe $60

- Spent a week with five bros at a ridic penthouse. Girl flew down to stay with me and split my room costs with me. I paid less than $100/night.

- Flew Medellin-Miami-New York with AA miles basically for free

- Spent 1.5 days packing in NYC

- Flew JFK-Paris on AA, again with miles basically for free

- My best friend was in Paris for meetings. Stayed to chill for the weekend. Went out to Deauville with him and a French girl I sometimes date. He covered the rental car, I covered the AirBnB ~$220.

- Train Paris to St. Raphael ~$120

- Ferry St. Raphael-St. Topez ~15 euro

- French girl I met two years ago took the train to meet me in St. Raph, spent the week with her in St. Tropez. Rented an AirBnB apt for ~$120night. Was there with her and a bunch of friends from all over the place. French girl speaks zero English, so I was able to meet some new randos in front of her which was nice. hightlights were a big titted Canadian, Russian teen and a Slovakian law shrew who is coming to visit in NYC.

- The same ferry/train costs to get back to Paris

- Two day detox

- Initially booked Paris-Mykonos flight two stops for 15k UA miles and almost no $. However, I was tired from St. Tropez still, no longer *G and that sounded awful, so I cancelled and bought a last minute biz ticket for ~$550 one stop through Athens

- Rented a house on Mykonos with three bros (6nights). Was paying $100/day, maybe a little less. Took down an American tinder girl (and her friend hooked up w one of my bros), and another rando girl I met at a bar.

- One of my bros from Mykonos came back to Paris with me for two days. Took down the Albanian from last summer and another French girl

- Went to London for 2 days with that bro by Eurostar ~85 euro if purchased in advance to meet up with some other bros. Copped an AirBnB, my share was ~$115/night.

August

- My date arrived from Oslo and we all went out by train to a friend's wedding in the Cotswolds. Train ticket ~30 GBP, my share of the cottage we rented was ~$100/night, otherwise everything was free as part of the wedding.

- 80 GBP taxi from Winchcome to BHX at 330am

- ~$300 for a Brussels Airlines BHX-BRU-NAP flight, $15 for a cab to the ferry port in Naples and ~$20 for a Naples-Capri ferry ticket, then finally 40euro for a taxi to our villa in Anacapri.

- Couple I'm friends with from NY organized a villa rental. My costs were capped at $1,500 for 6 nights. Everyone ended up bailing, so it was just the couple and me. I convinced two other American girls to join at the last minute. Villa was SICK, owned by the POTUS of Ferrari and the per night cost (6BR house) was similar to an entry level room at one of the nice hotels.

- Went ferry Capri-Rome with the LA girl, copped AirBnB for ~$100/night near Piazza Navona in Rome for two nights.

- LA girl left, I checked into Hotel Raphael for a other 2 nights because I had memories of staying there 20 years ago and it was only like $200/night. Place sucked. Went out with a tinder girl I matched w in Toronto but didn't meet up with there and also messaged an Italian friend in London and had her intro me via whatsapp to one of her gf's who was in Rome. Went out w both of them at the same time, made out w the Canadian, when she bailed, took the Italian home.

- Woke up two hours later, 140 euro for a train ticket Rome-Venice connecting to a bus Venice-Villach and another train Villach-Ljubljana

- 72 euro/night for the Grand Hotel Union in Ljubjlana (3 nights)

- Didn't know anyone there or tinder, just picked up randoms in bars

- ~7 euro for the bus Ljubljana to Bled

- ~$100 for the Best Western (1 night)

- Met randos at bars

- 7 euro bus to 40+ euro taxi to expensive flight out of LJU. Didn't want to fly Adria or have a long connection (were cheap options) so paid ~$600 for a quick Swiss flight through Zurich back to Paris

- Two days doing nothing in Paris

- Air France expensive flight to Vienna

- Expensive room at Ritz Vienna (1 night)

- Went out with a tinder girl, then after taking her home went out to bars and picked up another girl.

- Overnight expensive Austrian flight Vienna to Astana

- Marriott Astana ~$250/night (2 nights)

- Went out with an Air Astana stew I met from tinder, took her down

- PJ Astana-Bishkek

- Hyatt Bishkek reasonably priced (2 nights)

- Went out drinking with Pederastrian's friend, good dude

- Bus from Bishkek to Almaty, cheap but long

- Expensive hotel in Almaty (3 nights)

- Tinder Kazakh girl from the thread, have been out with her every night

Summer trip will go until Sept 22, I can lay out the future costs as they happen, but every time I have an expensive item in the above, it could easily have been replaced with a cheaper version. You can really live this sort of lifestyle on the cheap if you want. I say go for it brej.
