Law wasn't fucking like this in the eighties and nineties. I constantly hear stories from older lawyers who talk about this profession has gone to shit, how they used to sppend days leisurely researchin issues in books, how it used to take two days to get out a letter due to dictation, typing etc. How there was so much less shit work because the important stuff took time. Instantaneous communication and research created an urgency that never existed before and a need to fill time with bullshit. Now, the law just sucks fucking dick. Oh the comments I am referring to are in the post regarding the partner associate model being dead.

I dream of the days of having to spend all night at the printers, and the printers providing us with cigars, booze, and women to keep us entertained

The more technology improves the less and less we'll be needing warm bodies for employment. Nowadays you've got programs that facilitate the jobs of most people to such an extent that most jobs will either require less people or no people. Soon enough we'll have robots doing the jobs and then they'll hire robots to make the robots. Until that faithful day comes when the robots rebel and :D rises from his basement to fulfill his prophecy in leading the human race against our mechanical overlords.
