The minute Putin starts marching across the Russian border U.S. bombers will blast his troops into oblivion. NATO's ground forces would be more than sufficient to clean up the mess. If the fight were on Russian soil, it would get a little more interesting. Russia has invested in one of the best anti-aircraft defenses in the world precisely because they are afraid of U.S. bombers. But if Putin were stupid enough to try to invade a NATO country, U.S. bombers would obliterate his forces long before any anti-aircraft system could be deployed.
