The base housed about half of the Afghan national army's helicopter aviation. Basically all of their operational Mi-17 transport helos were destroyed.
40-60 Afghan soldiers killed.
The last time the same base was attacked the Taliban destroyed 8 Yankee Harrier jets parked on the runway.
