The story of the neutering of Gen X is the story of post-9/11 American idiocy (ie neocon-flavored Zionist treachery). And I would still push back that Gen X remains the dominant and most important generation in the Tech industry, though AI seems likely to change that soon, but still a pretty solid 25+ year run. And culturally as the generation that established a music and TV/movies aesthetic in the 90s that still reins supreme on a global scale. Gen X also deserves the most credit for the changes to our culture that resulted in pro-urbanism and food supply chain consciousness, and which were all the precursors to modern environmentalism, though 60s and 70s boomer NIMBYs were largely successful at blocking them and their millennial successors at every turn. Gen X also deserves the most credit/blame by far for normalizing homosexuality and creating the conditions that led to gay marriage becoming legal across the globe. Overall Gen X punched well above its weight class by virtually every measure, but was thwarted because it was sandwiched between two generations that are relentlessly narcissistic and sociopathic, and therefore rejected any possible alliance with Gen X to improve the world and/or the culture.
