I haven't sent out a single resume for over a year. Am I supposed to be mailing stuff out now, or after I pass the bar exam? I don't trust career services' advice on what I should be doing. Somehow it seems like a waste of time to be looking for work now. |

apply to shit load of jobs, network, and cold email HR people at firms with your resume attached. also, apply to lots of non-law jobs as well.
my buddy was unemployed after law school from T20 JD. It took him 10 months to land a job. He got a job as a sales guy at a boutique investment bank in institutional equity sales. He got 65k base + 10k sign bonus + commission bonus at the end.
The problem with law students is that many fail to realize that there are jobs outside of law. Tell you what - outside of BigLaw, law jobs absolutely fucking suck. In shitlaw, you do menial work, deal with shitty clients, work with depressed fuckers, and slave away for a shitty pay with no clear pay increase over time.
