Enjoy writing asinine briefs in a cubicle for two years. It's basically a federal clerkship. Not sure why anyone does it.

People who get DOJ Honors usually had BIGLAW options anyway.

USAO maybe? But they tend to like prosecutors, JAGs, and midlaw litigators

What about 5-8 years out of school? You'd think people with DOJ experience and contacts are better positioned for high-paying gov't jobs than people who went straight to firms or who clerked.

I thought regular gov't attorneys at preftigious federal agencies make > $125k all the time. Pretty sure I've seen FDIC, SEC, and Treasury positions starting at over that for people with only 2-3 years of experience.

because they landed a section that allowed them to go read their brief one time at an oral argument at some shitstain TRO hearing nobody cares about. The local AUSAs are about ten times better lawyers and its always funny when these nerd fags from Main Justice get sent on a quirky cases. Theyre always terrible.

no idea, it probably cant hurt. To me though, what AUSAs actually fucking do everyday isn't similar to the shit that goes on at DOJ Honors. A state prosecutor, JAG, or even a law clerk for a district judge has a more applicable background. Some asshole working on fucking regulatory appeals at DOJ Honors isn't getting knowledge about sentencing guidelines, drug laws, felony gun possession cases, trial work that the aforementioned get

Umm, isn't that what all lawyers do? Except at big firms, where they spend their first two years doing doc review? And don't most people like federal clerkships?
