Is this a real issue in the land of Domestic Bliss. I see them actually itemizing all of their chores and arguing over where it splits evenly and I’m like lol wtf? Btw women lose Attraction if you indulge them in these things.
yes 100% or she resents you for not fucking her enough.
but yeah idk why any married guy even bothers to come home. just keep working on something. you'll get no peace at home because of Open Concept and an extremely exaggerated conception of chores and other shit.
also empirically, if you're dating, if you're just doing nothing around the house, it's over. if you're like "hey Im home alone Posting, come to my House" she's never coming over and if she does she'll be mad at you. But if you go to her place at midnight you'll probably get laid.
Like that's how it was in HS too. "Please Come over to my House" definitely never worked. But being at some Party 25 miles from where you lived at least had a chance of making you look Cool.
college too. "Please come to my dorm room in the 2.875 hours when my roommate isn't here" doesn't work but being Out and she doesn't know what you've been upto and Her Room is always a better option anyway.
"im studying Liberal Arts. I could use a break from Liberal Arts" i don't think that works ime.

afaik, many marrieds act as a 'team', and it seems to work out for them. Wife does chores that shes ok with and husband does ones he feels are T-forward like mow lawn, take out garbage or clean eaves. That said I have seen variations on this, for example, one guy I know who is a chef at a large hotel did all the kitchen stuff, cooking, dishes etc, and his wife was a botanist and teacher who did all the gardening stuff including mowing lawn and edging the flower beds. By all accounts, they are very happy together. Ive been to there place many times for dinner and they have a beautiful garden, and the dinners are outstanding with excellent wine pairings. Yet, it all seems so wrong.
there's like 10 levels to this. it's not just who does the chores. it's who asks whom. it's whether there's an expectation that one does chore x all the time if they agree to do it once or voluntarily do it once.
as larry david said about cheryl, "we're not partners, we're rivals"

It’s also complicated by work demands: SAHM vs. BigLaw partner; two biglaw Ofs Counsel; part-time job vs. normal job. While men can often calibrate accordingly, many women do not factor this in and are overly focused on some mental scoreboard, ideas of “equality,” etc. Men are often painted as the selfish ones who sit and watch TV while women clean the kitchen for 2 hours and put the kids to bath and bed, but except for some ethnics I know, this is not IRL at all.
It’s also salary vs hours worked vs demands of the job
Wife makes 200k at a relatively cushy WFH sinecure. Good salary so I can’t use the card that she’s some 50k useless teacher. She’s just not as drained at the end of the day as I am because her work is way less intense. And she’s done at 455pm while I have to respond to emails in the evening. Leads to lots of tension when there IS NOT an easy way to call the woman useless in the economic department.
