Date: December 9th, 2016 7:26 AM Author: Hilarious Know-it-all Library Digit Ratio Thanks to everyone who has contributed in the various moniker collection threads this week. With your help, 2016's winner of the Megapoaster Madness tourney will truly be the Poaster's Champion.
Megapoaster Madness 2016 will be a 128 poaster tournament. The field will be sorted into four regions -- named TRUMP, IFNB, NOWAG, and CLAIRE -- and seeded 1 through 32 in each region. Voting will take place as in years past.
However, the initial rounds of voting in years past demonstrated clear voter fatigue at the matchups that through chance alone are listed at the bottom of threads. I want each and every poaster in the tourney to have the best possible chance of advancement. As such, each region will have their opening contests on a different day.
Voting begins with the CLAIRE regional on Monday, December 12th, at or around 7am eastern. The complete bracket will be available for review at that time as well via link in the thread.
Seedings will be determined with the following structure:
The Top 32 overall seeds (1-8 in each region) will be set based on contributions in the discussion thread here: http://www.xoxohth.com/thread.php?thread_id=3452903&mc=111&forum_id=2 . So please do your part and make your opinions known. The quality of the seeding is in large part up to each and every one of you.
The next 32 overall seeds (9-16 in each region) will be set solely at the discretion of your genial hoast. Criteria for selection will include, but will not be limited to, such factors as seniority, moniker amuse-ability, 180s earned, je ne sais quoi, TRUMPmo status, and scholarship produced.
The final 64 overall seeds (17-32 in each region) will be randomly selected and randomly seeded from the remaining monikers in the field. We have more than 128 monikers nominated, so not everyone will make the tourney. But remember, just being nominated by your fellow poasters is an honor.
In the unlikely event of a tie in voting between two monikers, the moniker with the best seed will advance.
All decisions of your genial hoast are final.
