Group of bros on annual trip. Streamsong reservation fell through. Looking at November 10 weekend. Options on table are Hammock Creek and southern RTJ courses - Magnolia and Lakewood. Would be a 72 hole, 3 day trip playing Thurs Fri Fri Saturday. Handicaps range from 5 to 25; distribution bunches up around 15. Everyone enjoys hitting the bar and betting on CFB, probably staying away from strip clubs on this trip.

Last year we did RTJ Hampton Cove --> Shoals --> partied in Nashville to a great success. Need to book tomorrow.

Doodikoff and spack text me if you want to play.

Step 1) Choose the funnest city to party

Step 2) Choose the best golf course in that city and within 15 minute drive of the party spots in that city.

If you want to stay in the South, Sea Pines in Hilton Head is nice. All awesome courses.

Myrtle Beach is prole, but fun for young dudes and tons of golf. Not sure what weather is like there at that time of year.

RTJ Golf Trail would be fun, but you'd have to drive a bit. And that's more about golf than hanging.

Wolf Creek in Mesquite is fantastic, but you're in Mesquite. Though you could spend a couple nights in Vegas or even head up to Zion for some outdoorsy stuff thrown in. Also, Vegas itself has a lot of great golf and the weather would be nice at that time.

Palm Springs could also be cool. Could do PGA West or Indian Wells.

I like this spot - we do something here every few years. Nice place. Great course. Amazing weather in November. Affordable. Party in Austin (downtown maybe 30 minutes away).

Disney area, Grand Cypress, Magnolia, etc

Streamsong is a factory. Blue course took 5.25 hours to play when I played it.

Resorts sort of suck, too formal and busy. Just go to an area with a lot of golf nearby, eg Disney, Ponte Vedra/St John's

those are great courses with awesome views, you'll have fun. pool has a huge water slide and a lazy river and there's a hidden sushi bar somewhere in the main building.

yea it's pretty good and yes. It's tiny and overlooks the main lobby I think. It's been years since I've been there but back when it was called Ginn Hammock they didn't put the sushi bar on the restaurant list so that's why I say it's hidden and it's hard to find. theres a bar right next to the top of the water slide pretty much designed for dads trying to sneak in drinks while their kids go on the slide.

also the beach has crazy sand, like really coarse grains rather than fine like everywhere else in florida. I duno if that's manufactured or natural.

Do you mean the ocean course bunkers or the beach itself?

Can you give me a sense of how you might handle high handicap players and a scramble or shamble on either course?

the beach

all florida courses you basically deal with the same stuff. bunkers, water/marshes, etc, no elevation since the whole state is flat. high handicappers are hit or miss but a lot of them simply can't drive the ball so having someone do that for them in a shamble and all of a sudden they become valuable. the singles where you said it's a max triple bogey, just keeping it in play with those guys and not doing dumb shit on the greens will win it.
