1 on 1 Vs prime jordan? Out of current players?
This is tough.
Lebron too old, SGA too much of a pussy/foul baiter, Luka too slow,
Im running thru list of top nba players. Maybe Giannis? The size advantage would be helpful.
Jokic prob not physical enough.
Wemby in a few years would probably work but i dont think hes developed enough now.
Edwards is like a wish version of Jordan.
Idk. Tough question.

This is for my BM style spec script for Space Jam 3
Act 1 ties in the Kobe helicopter crash with hostile UFO takeover
ACT 2 - ACT 3 - ???
Climax - the REAL Michael Jordan emerges from his drunken stupor to play his clone with the whole world watching and their lives at stake
PLOT TWIST -- Old MJ knows **all** of Prime Jordan's moves, sees everything he does ahead of time. Prime MJ's knowledge ends around '1995 in the reverse, giving him a huge cerebral disadvantage

MJ was a fantastic defender
This is a difficult hypo because MJ had a killer/competitive instinct that was unmatched in basketball history, was incredibly explosive in getting to the basket, an excellent defender, and a good shooter.
That's a combination of traits that makes him extremely difficult to play 1 on 1.
I think peak Lebron would have a chance due to advantage in size. But MJ has him beat in terms of competitive edge.
Kobe is probably the only player that can match MJ in terms of killer instinct but MJ was a considerably better player imo. and of course he's det.
I think I saw someone else mention Olajuwon in another poast and that would be my #1 choice for one of MJ's contemporaries but of course Olajuwon is like 60 now.
I really think Giannis might be the current player with the best chance of beating MJ due to his size advantage. He has the needed athleticism and explosiveness. He really could just bully MJ down low.

I actually thought about Jokic and seriously considered him. He obviously has a size advantage. He has amazing footwork and a high shot release point, so he'd be able to get his shots off. But one of Jokic's biggest strengths is his playmaking and passing ability, which is completely negated in a game of 1 on 1. I also do think that Jordan is just way way too athletic and quick for him. Jordan regularly dunked on people Jokic's size. Jokic wouldn't be able to keep up with him.
I thought about Kawhi but my history of watching the nba is very spotty and off and on and I don't think I've seen enough of him in his peak to judge him vs Jordan.
I think that anybody with a real chance to beat Jordan would have to have a size or atheleticism advantage as well as being a great defender and very competitive. The number of players that fit that description are very very small. The more I think about it, the more I really do think Giannis is the best choice from current players. I think being able to bully MJ and tire him out in the paint is the best option. I don't think you're going to be able to beat MJ playing MJ's game (ie, being a quick, big, physical guard).

His size, skills, movement and defense would just annihilate jordan.

Jordan had different primes depending on how you define them. In terms of pure physical ability he was probably peaking in the late 80s. In terms of basketball IQ (while still being completely physically in control and able to do whatever he wanted, so setting aside Wizard era), it's the end of the second threepeat (98). In terms of overall mastery of the game, like a combo of the first and second category, it's probably the end of the third threepeat as demonstrated by his destruction of the Suns and permanent hobbling of Barkley's career.
None of these Jordans would have any problems with "modern bigs." He would destroy them in a 1:1 setting and none of them could keep up.

He also shot a .376 in the late 80s, well before the "3 point era" and with the standard regulation 3 point line not the experimental line of the second 3peat. He was a skilled and accurate shooter both inside and outside but he opted to focus on his inside and mid/post game for obvious reasons.
