The problem with Calzaghe's career is that he never made a move to seek out big fights until Jones Jr. and Hopkins got old. So his biggest wins are against Lacy, Kessler, over the hill Hopkins (and he barely squeaked that one out), and Roy Jones' ghost. He was damn good, but he should have come to the US about five years sooner than he did, and he should have moved up to light heavyweight. Even if Roy Jones ducked him, he could have made fights with guys like Tarver, Glen Johnson, and Montell Griffon, which would have been a big step up from the guys he was facing. I mean, even fighting in Europe he never even tried to get a fight with Darius Michealeuski. He just held onto the WBO super middleweight belt for like 15 years and waited shit out until all of those guys were old as shit. Even after the Lacy fight he was fighting guys like Peter Manfredo and shit.
I'm a Joe C. fan though. He was really fucking good. I would have liked to have seen him actually face elite competition. I liked watching him make adjustments and shift gears to dominate fights that started out tough, but the only times I can even remember him having to do that is against Kessler and against Sakio Bika. Fucking sucks.
Probably isn't his fault either. Frank Warren is a real fucking faggot.

Froch is a very good fighter, but not elite. Ward owned him pretty easily, I thought that Andre Dirrell deserved the decision over him, he let Kessler outwork him in the second half of their first fight even though he was clearly the superior fighter, and, shit, even Jermain Taylor was schooling him all the way up until falling apart in the last few rounds (which it's hard to give Froch credit for when Taylor did the same shit in so many other fights).
But, I actually think he is the second best super middleweight by far, and that he would probably beat all of the guys at light heavyweight too. And I think that he can still get better, and that he has the potential to actually pose a challenge to Andre Ward in a rematch if he is able to take his game to the next level in the next couple of years. By no means should he seek out a rematch with Ward just yet though, he won't reach his potential if he does that.
He is actually smarter than Ward, and I think he is physically superior to Ward. He just doesn't have the amateur background though, and you can tell that he faced mostly simple styles coming up in England. That puts him at a huge disadvantage against Ward, but I think if he fights the right guys over the next 18-24 months he could catch up.
He seems like a good dood, so I hope he does.

Is there anyone who could challenge Andre Ward? Who should sergio martinez fight now?

There really isn't anyone in his league right now. Froch is the only guy that really has a chance to challenge him up until the point where he gets old or loses focus and falls off.
Sergio Martinez should retire. His body is breaking down and it would be a shame to see him get ripped apart by Genady Golovkin at this point. Sergio Martinez from three or four years ago probably would have won that fight, but he really doesn't have much left at this point.
I think Froch is very good at seeing punches coming moreso than he has some kind of other worldly chin. Taylor had him shook up pretty good from what I recall, but Froch really learned from that fight, improved tremendously, and really never gets hit with those kinds of shots at this point.
Yeah man, unless you are that fucking queer dooberstein or some other psychopath.

Do you mean Sergio would be Ward 3 years ago or GGG? Or both?
Who are you're picks for both bouts this weekend (undercard and main event)?
Thanks man. I appreciate it. I am trying to learn more about boxing.
