Cancer treatment update- 2 more radiation sessions to go

Date: May 13th, 2024 2:53 PM Author: poppy exhilarant kitchen Started radiation last Thursday and Had my third of 5 radiation therapy sessions today. feel pretty worn out and tired. Went to bed at 8 pm last night.
So far Chemotherapy side effects were definitely harsher and more noticeable than this though.
Every time I go to the cancer center everyone else in the waiting room are in their 70s. Keep wondering if I’ll run into someone my age in a similar situation that I could strike up a conversation with but hasn’t happened yet. I might connect with one of those young people with cancer support groups just for the hell of it and see if I can make some cancer friends. (Yes, I’m gay)
Will be resuming chemo next week. |

If the tumor is completely eliminated (happens in about 25% of cases) then I’m done. Date: May 13th, 2024 3:04 PM Author: poppy exhilarant kitchen Most people don’t lose hair on this particular chemo med (one I’m taking is called folfox which is commonly given for colorectal cancer), but some do. I haven’t noticed any hair loss or thinning yet but we’ll see what happens after the next couple cycles |
