I thought about suggesting she crash at my place but she lives like 5 blocks away and it would've kind of come out of nowhere. The sexual vibe was never really there. More like friends. We talk for another 20 minutes and she says she should probably head home. I walk her out and we make out.

Other context, she's bisexual and kind of has a masculine energy. She's not butch but like a female soccer player vibe. Wears a leather jacket. She also talks a lot and I just nod along and listen. Early on in the 2nd date, I was thinking, damn this chick is kind of nuts. It kind of throws me off my game.

This sometimes happened to me as a dating noob--movie dates where it's awkward and not much physical contact, wondering how to get from there to fucking with the clock ticking down. The thing to remember is that even if the vibe is off at first, the chick is there because she EXPECTED to be making out with (and probably fucking) you.

You have to break the ice in the first ~20 minutes or it's going to get harder and more awkward as more time passes. If the chick is sitting on the other side of the couch (implied by sitting on the couch and talking) just say "hey, come here" and put your arm around her. Or you can get up to grab a drink and just sit next to her when you come back. Head resting on your chest, you can rub her arm, leg, lower back, whatever. It's also easy to lean down and kiss her when she looks up.

From there, just let it play out depending on the vibe you get. I have had chicks who were basically moaning and grinding on me straight from the first kiss and sitting on my dick 20 minutes into a movie. Otherwise you just kiss them and leave it at that for a bit, then come back with something more intense later.

You can make a second chance for yourself if you want. Back when I had no confidence, I'd just ask the chick out again and hope things went better the next time. These days I don't really give a fuck so I'm a lot more direct . . . I may say something like hey, I thought you looked hot, didn't really get a vibe like you wanted me to make a move. Just throw it back on them a bit and let them think they were a bit off in some way. Either you end up a 100% green light or maybe you piss the chick off and don't see her again, but it avoids another wasted date. The tiny subset of additional chicks you might be able to peel off with a more subtle approach aren't worth it.
