I was on clinical ketamine (Sprovato) for about 8 months. It just kinda makes you space out for 90 mins or so. The closest thing I can compare it to is really good weed in that it makes existence feel “unreal” for a bit, but it’s a different feeling than weed. When I was on it, it always reminded me of that scene from training day where Alonzo gives Jake PCP and the camera shows what the world looks like from his perspective. It’s amusing the first few times but not something I have any real desire to do again. And no, it did not cure my depression.

I was doing it as a treatment for depression and wasn’t seeing results plus the last few times I did it I had bad “trips” where during my session I’d be sitting in the chair and start thinking about my dead relatives and my dead dog and wondering where tf they are and how it doesn’t make sense that they were once here and now they’re just gone and I kept thinking that someone or something was looking at me through the window even though I was on the 8th floor of the clinic

In any event my clinical depression has been gone for over a year now. It lasted 3 years and 11 months. no idea why it came on or why it stopped but I no longer climb into an empty bathtub fully clothed with a pistol in hand
