Just those B17s raining endless hell on the enemy, and the U-boats, and the jet planes, and the Pacific Theatre conveniently giving the Marine Corps a reason to exist, and the rockets, and tanks, and the 50,000 jews dying, and the 500,000 americans dying, it was terrific.
WW1 has potential as a more personal story. 'Twas the last time that the West sent its young aristocrats to war. A Film could be made on a more personal level if the soldiers had enough dash and swagger to woo female posters and male liberals - like an English version of Rhett Butler, living on his estate, banging dames, before being called to serve his King and country. As for the actual war, there has to have been a battle in the whole bloody war that photographed well, or a secret mission or something. Like a WWI equivalent of the WW2 movies that Brad Pitt keeps making, how is that not possible. Is it because (((they))) don't want us to get to the part where the Jews betray Germany from within and establish the Weimar Republic? |

Joyeux Noel was excellent and was sort of about trench warfare.
Gallipoli was great.
You could do a tank battle or poison gas battle and trench warfare could be made into a good movie (and there are some examples in TV shows).
There are lots of possible topics but the one that needs to be done is Jutland. |
