I'm working on a feature set to start principal photography in June. We have $3m out of a $6m budget secured.
Main lead is attached and signed - in his 40's all of you would know him, you watched his films in HS/college with your buddies. Underlying rights acquired and clearance completed. Script is surprisingly great.
Standard equity offer is traditionally a 15% flat fee out of gross receipts after cash-break even. Given the timing, the producers would likely be open to talking.
I'm selling it internationally and know what I'm doing. We'll recoup and have a legacy. Let's do it.

Softs: There are 3 non-speaking lawyer roles for a cutaway shot where they all look up from their phones - I can't believe I'd offer to mark the film like this but I think they need to be poasters. For any others, likely a day of acting as an extra on set if you wanted. Invite to the premiere, if any. If I take the film to a festival, you will get invited to the screening / party in Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Venice, or Los Angeles depending on timing / launch. Special thanks in the credits.

US domestic partner is financing around half the budget and taking US / CAN. They are looking for $2m minimum guarantee for ROW rights.
I can spend a year pre-selling the film to fill the gap and take my 15% gross on international. Or you can come in and take a 20% finance fee off the top and 50% of producers backend after the film recoups. |
