ITT: A friendly game of 3L chicken

Date: March 2nd, 2010 11:57 AM Author: jet fragrant den I am proposing a friendly game of chicken for all of us 3Ls. ITT, we will poast each day that we persist in not doing any work this semester. Doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just a check-in. Here are the rules: 1) This will be based on an honor system - do not lie and say that you still haven't done work, when in fact you are briefing cases like a 1L gunner. In fact, even if you have merely cracked a casebook and read one sentence, you have done work for the purposes of this game. 2) Extraneous (i.e., non-class-related work) does not count. For example, the following is permissible: journal or clinic related work; studying for the MPRE; completing a short written assignment that must be handed in during the semester (this is class-related, but it can't be avoided). Work that counts is any work in preparation for day-to-day class and/or finals. That means reading, outlining, etc. 3) It is not necessary for everyone to poast every day (although you may) - the point is merely to see who is the last to poast a good-faith claim to have done no work 4) The last person to poast, closest to finals, WINS.

EDIT: FWIW, I took 3 classes last semester and studied a grand total of 10 days between all of them. |

Date: March 3rd, 2010 10:35 AM Author: jet fragrant den Again, in the "cooler, edgier" version of this game, it might count- but since some profs actually take attendance, and since in theory one could be prevented from sitting for an exam based on insufficient attendance, I would say this category of work is "unavoidable." Sometimes you just have to go to class. But you NEVER have to do work.
By the way, I have persisted in doing no work. |
