Worth it to Transfer to a 15-25 from a T2?

Grades will probably be in the top 10-20% category. I would be giving up about 20k/year to transfer. Think it's worth it? I want biglaw if at all possible, and am a prestige whore unfortunately. 19-25 you'll probably get in and I guess it might be worth it, though biglaw will be hit or miss. just keep in mind if you go to minnesota or WUSTL you're probably going to be stuck in the midwest
10-20% wont cut it at most T2s for biglaw through OCI with perhaps exceptions for Brooklyn and Dozo (not sure on this) |

Law Review is going to be key for me I think.
But I'm definitely thinking of throwing out a few apps to those schools, it's just whether it's worth it is the question. |

The classmates who transferred out to NYU and Columbia were all in the top 5%. With top 20% rank, I dont think you should have any trouble going to a Top 25 LS. Just make sure you have a good essay explaining why you want to transfer besides just writing, 'because your school is ranked higher'.

She came in with a very small scholarship, her undergrad was University of Chicago...she had 1-2 yrs of experience before LS. She didnt mention transferring until midway through 1L, around March or April. She mentioned leaving NYC because she missed Chicago and wanted to be closer to her family. She said that was the only reason she transferred, her 1L grades were solid but nothing amazing (B+'s, A-'s).
Anything is possible. Don't let this board depress you. You wont know unless you try.
