Try to take one down yourself and see what happens. It's one thing to just cut it and go TIMMMMBEERRRRRR but if it's next to shit you have to do it branch by branch to ensure it doesn't fall on your stupid dumbass house or carport or pool or whatever. Then you gotta get up there with a non-AI HARNESS (tree removal is legit a risky profession) and cut the shit down. $15k is excessive but it requires rented equipment and men and a fuckton of kike liability insurance.

unless I'm mistaken you can just let trees do unless there is some clear indication it poses a risk and your shithead neighbor probably doesn't have an arborist keeping track of the state of your trees

"Congrats - the judge just granted our MSJ and your company is free of all liability! Mort Shekelstein LP is grateful for this opportunity to serve you and we wish you much prosperity in your business and hope you keep us in mind going forward."
Just wait until you go to plant your replacement trees, that’s where they really rake you over the coals. Then you have to wait 50 years for the trees to get big again. Fifty years!
Pruning, take down, stump grinding, debris removal, purchasing a replacement trees, transport fee, planting fee, fertilizing fee, rerouting the irrigation system to accommodate said tree, 50 years of watering, maintenance, and paying for liability insurance and what for? So one day the gales of November can knock her over and crush the neighbors cat.

In my UMC suburb you have to put down a deposit with the town for every tree you cut down. The price is $1,000/inch of tree diameter. You get it back at some point after planting a new tree.
